Sunday, the day I’m free to do whatever I want, including sleeping in a bit. I woke up at 9 AM and took my breakfast as I usually do. I had absolutely no plans today other than looking online for a place where they can massage my back because I’m feeling it hurting me more. I’m not sure when it happens, but certain movements now cause sharp pains that completely paralyze me for a few seconds, and I’m getting more and more worried about it.
I took it slow, sat down, and watched the morning shows. I feel like I can stay awake until late today, I still had a good night sleep. However, as soon as that thought left my mind, I get a phone call. This time, it was Nate who was inviting me to have lunch outdoor at his house. Nate is very wealthy compared to me, so he owns this house with a big backyard and sometimes invites us to spend time together. I’ve only been there once since I’m always tied up with my work and we didn’t meet that long ago.
I accepted the invite, I was feeling good, albeit with back pain but still fine enough to socialize and have fun. I put on a very simple getup and light makeup, something comfortable that I could enjoy on a Sunday and went out at around 11:15 AM. It was sunny today, a huge contrast from my last post. It’s nice to see the sun, and we don’t get enough of it here. I could see some clouds though but they didn’t look menacing at all, just puffy white clouds being carried by the winds.
I arrived at Nate’s house at around 12:10, my legs were killing me, but I got a warm welcome from him and his wife, they told me to go over their fence and so I did, arriving at the spacious backyard with nicely cut lawn and a big pool. I hope they don’t expect us to go to the pool because I have nothing to wear for that… Furthermore, I think I’m too big for it, it’s designed for humans. Instead, we were invited to a gaming afternoon in the open air, with a barbecue! I love moments like these where we get to talk near a sizzling fire and enjoy the nice warmer weather.
Sarah was there too, they were in the middle of a game, which sort of looked like a board game of sorts, but it featured plumbers, princesses, and mushrooms… I’m not sure if it’s any familiar to my readers, but it’s new to me. Nate was busy with setting up the fire and the meat, with the help of his wife, while Sarah and some other human, who I had never seen before, called Dexter, I believe, were playing the game. I sat down with them and asked if I could help with something, but they refused and told me to sit down and enjoy the company. So I did, Nate had some makeshift controllers, two of them, that were bigger and clearly handcrafted, and it sat well in my hands.
Both started a game, I chose a brown-haired princess as a character and they explained to me how it all worked. The game was being screened by a projector in front of us, the light of the sun made it hard to see the details but I was able to see still. We played for a bit, it was rather fun! Dexter had won this game and we were accusing him of cheating, but all as a lighthearted joke, I’m not sure how one could cheat when playing on a machine…
The food was ready to go on the grill and so it did, and after the first sizzles, I see Sequoia and Jeremiah arriving. I knew they were going to be invited too somehow, but they arrived late. So she and I caught up while the others were talking, and soon after we prepared to eat. Sequoia can’t eat any sort of meat so she got roasted vegetables instead, while I stuck with the chicken. Everything was delicious with a hint of a charred flavor and really good sweet paprika aroma that I just didn’t expect, it was perfect.
As I expected, Jeremiah and Sequoia were very close together having a moment, him feeding her and calling her goddess and other names I just didn’t really feel comfortable around them, honestly. Looking at them, I kind of wonder how their relationship works. Him so small compared to her. I have no issues with it, I just never had one, and I keep thinking about it. How does a relationship between a Giant and a human become satisfactory in the long run? Is it the reason why she keeps switching between human partners? Does she have some sort of attraction towards humans in particular? I really can’t tell.
Meanwhile, Nate and Dexter were chatting about games to play, the latter mentioning how much into arcades he was, and it got me thinking. I have a computer, so maybe I can look up something about this, see what other games there are if any actually is as entertaining as the one I just played. Nate might be able to give me some hints, he did build an arcade machine in his house, I’m not sure if I need one to play, yet. I’ll look it up and see what my options are.
While we were eating, after most of our chatter was finished, the boys went and invited us to play another round with them, but the game allows for only four players, so Sarah, Nate’s wife and I were watching them and chatting, while Dexter, Nate and the couple were playing. Meanwhile, we talked about relationships, I asked Nate’s wife how their relationship was going and she seemed happy, planning to have kids soon, then the conversation turned to the obvious couple. She shared the same concern, that they can’t have kids and that she didn’t really understand how a relationship like that would work. Sarah didn’t either and we eventually ended up talking about the obvious thing, that perhaps, size doesn’t actually matter in that relationship. We laughed so much, the thought of tiny Jeremiah trying to do anything to please Sequoia sounded more platonic than realistic! I’m still unsure, myself.
I keep thinking, I feel this very strong attraction towards humans, I feel comfortable with them, but at the same time, I’m not one of them, I should be in a relationship with another Giant instead… I’m not sure what to think, honestly, this doesn’t seem to work at all, and I fear Sequoia will be stuck in a loop trying to find a partner, and so will I if I fall into the same trap. I’ve seen happy Giant and human couples, although rare, they do exist. The question is how and why. Maybe, that’s just it, it’s the power of love! I mean what else could it be, right?
The afternoon went on, we had much fun swapping teams, I won a game but I had Dexter on my team when I did, so I assume he did most of the job for me. I had never seen this Dexter before, he’s quite handsome and seems open and fun, but he actually never looked much or talked much to me the entire afternoon. Maybe he’s just shy? Or is it because I’m not human and he feels awkward? I think it’s just that he’s shy… Well, I hope I get to meet him properly in the future, I’m not even sure he lives in town.
I agreed with Nate to have a call later when I got home, he’s willing to teach me a bit more about the internet and find my way around, hopefully, I get to find out more about how to get games running on this thing and spend some time enjoying them, perhaps I can invite people over for something other than just watching movies! I should invite people over someday, it’s kind of overdue to have a sort of commemorative party for my new home. I’ll think about it.
That’s all I have for today, I’ll have Nate over here soon to guide me through the internet and set up games to play, but for now, that’s it. I don’t want to spend too much time on my computer. I’m going to bed and read, this entry was good to read and I’ll be back next time!
